To get started, we recommend a tungsten dart weighing 22 to 24 grams with a soft (not too aggressive) grip. If you come to the store, we can advise you based on your throwing style; it's the difference between hitting the target on your first try or buying three sets before finding the right one.
Steel-tipped darts are used on sisal dartboards (the professional kind) and typically weigh between 20 and 26 grams. Plastic-tipped darts are used on electronic dartboards, weigh between 16 and 20 grams, and are lighter to avoid damaging the electronic sensors.
